For the most part, I’m not someone who writes reviews and/or offers public feedback, but in this case I’ll make an exception- and be proud to do it. I’ve known Russ and the exemplary folks at High Desert Counseling for years. Yes, I’ve had a long and hard fought battle with substance abuse and myriad underlying issues that both initiated, and stemmed from, this problem. I’ve been through two other programs and have sat across from more therapists than I can count. Would you like to know why I’m still alive? Not only that, but thriving and happy for the first time in 10 years? I made a choice and turned a corner— all because of Russ and High desert Counseling. I don’t write this lightly; there is no room for embellishment or hyperbole here, as for me this was a life and death proposition. I watched my friends die and I was on the same path. If I had not have found Russ Talbot, I wouldn’t be writing this- that is a certainty. This man is Kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and savvy, and is without a doubt at the top of a very short list here in Southern Utah regarding multi-modality approaches, dual-diagnostics, and cutting edge scientific therapies. I know this because I’ve researched every program in the area— when your desperate and on the brink that’s what you do. I sincerely wish I had the words to tell you what it means to be happy- what it means to not live in fear, and to wake up every day not haunted- but I can’t convey that. I can only say that Russ, along with his great staff, turned my life around by opening my eyes to a wholly different way of living; by educating me and offering me other modalities (i.e. CBT, RR, and leading scientific research- most notably that on brainscans and harmonic resonance treatments) outside of the ubiquitous and often monopolistic AA and NA, I realized there are other ways of achieving a goal that was heretofore unimaginable to me— sobriety + happiness. I can’t say enough; I can’t thank Russ and his staff enough. They fought for me, alongside me, and made a world of difference- literally. As I said, usually I’m not one for reviews, but if what I write here saves a life— if there are more out there like me that need something, SOMEONE, that is above and beyond what we have in this area- it’s my obligation and pleasure to share my experience with High Desert Counseling. If your struggling with substance abuse, or have family/friends that are, I emplore you to reach out to this group of individuals. I’m moving on, with my life back and intact.....there is hope out there....don’t quit, and don’t settle. This is where you want to be. If you think this is bulls**t, get ahold of me- I’ll be happy to speak my truth.

I was a message. From the moment Russ Talbut met me, his biggest concern was my health and sobriety. Like any business, he needs to get paid to stay in business. They worked with my insurance and with my family. I owe my life to Russ. Yes, I had to do a lot of work myself, but he and his staff were by my side through it all. I have nothing but love and respect for Russ, his wife and entire staff. I thank him and god everyday. My family thanks them. If you have made this decision to change your life and need help, look no further.
